Jose Cantu brings nearly a decade of leadership and strategic execution at the intersection of national security and advanced technology in both venture-backed and enterprise environments. Driven by a deep conviction that American leadership in innovation is essential to national security, Jose has dedicated his career to driving adoption of high-impact products for the nation’s most critical missions.
Jose began his career at Haystax Technology where he researched national security insider threats to inform the company’s risk model and cultivated a passion for building in startup environments. He then supported federal agencies as a cybersecurity consultant at Deloitte. From there he continued on to Expanse, an attack surface management startup, leading to his first successful exit with an acquisition by Palo Alto Networks. At Palo, he honed his expertise in federal go-to-market motions, supporting an enterprise expansion for the entire Department of War, converting no-cost pilots to enterprise deployments, and executing cross-sell opportunities.
Most recently, Jose led enterprise adoption of agentic AI technologies at Legion Intel, supporting initiatives with the U.S. Army, Department of Energy, and major Systems Integrators. At Legion, Jose engaged in the full spectrum of go-to-market activities – from capture management and proposal development to supporting partnerships management, marketing, events, and networking.
Jose holds a Bachelors of Science in Foreign Service in Science Technology and International Affairs from Georgetown University and remains committed to the passion he developed there for driving national security through technology.
