Mr. Hartford’s experience encompasses the spectrum of private equity and venture investing, having been a start-up entrepreneur, early-stage technology CEO, general partner in a venture group, and a founding partner in a multi-billion Euro investment arm of a family office that invested in PE and VC funds across six continents and in companies in five.
His experience with dual-use technologies includes the identification and transfer of technologies within a multinational conglomerate from its aerospace divisions to its commercial (and once in the other direction), as well as being an attorney representing U.S. technology companies doing business with the Soviet Union, and a venture capitalist invested in technology companies which sold both commercially and to classified programs.
